Obituary

Lois Edna Beller left this world and her family she loved so much on January 8, 2011; born in Muldrow, Oklahoma on August 9, 1923 to Mattie Leona (Pruitt) and Joseph Edgar Ruckman. She was raised with her seven siblings in Muldrow, where she attended school. They came to California in 1940 via the bay area. She met and married her late beloved husband Truman Beller April 24, 1940 together they had two wonderful children. She was a hard worker and was employed with Giumarra Company for 60 years; retiring as a floor supervisor. Lois was well known for her fried chicken family dinners, crocheting, solving many Sudoku cubes, and having a beautiful flower garden and manicured yard; her green thumb is what brought her a couple of "Top Yard of the Year Awards." She was a volunteer for the Gleaners and was lead singer at her church; Southern Baptist Church of Arvin, she looked forward to annual vacations with the family to Lake Tahoe and made trips back home to visit her sisters in Oklahoma as often as possible. Preceding Lois Edna Beller in death was her husband, Truman Beller (2000); sisters Pearl Harvell, Willie Robinson, Mandy Shamblin; brothers Norman and Roy Ruckman. She is survived by her loving family; son Travis and wife Loretta Beller; daughter Barbara and husband David Wheeler; sisters Okla Wilson and Farel Dean Ulin; grandchildren Brett Beller, Wendye Gomez and Kelli Collier, 7 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; many acquaintances and extended family members. All who had the opportunity to know Lois will miss her caring heart and kind love. Pastor Story of Southern Baptist Church in Arvin will officiate a Chapel Service for Lois Edna Beller, age 87, of Arvin at Arvin Funeral Home on Friday, January 14, 2011 – 1pm. Visitation will be at Arvin Funeral Home, Thursday, January 13th from 2 to 5pm.
