Linda Lee Janzen was born February 23, 1938, in Illinois and passed away on March 16, 2026, in Bakersfield, California. She was preceded in death by her parents Wayne and Beulah Lahti, her sister Sheri, and her husband Stephen Janzen.
She worked as a bookkeeper for her father’s business before moving to Wasco to teach Spanish at Wasco High. She eventually became a counselor. She met her future husband, Stephen, while living in an apartment above the drugstore in which he worked as a pharmacist. The two were married in June of 1969 and celebrated 53 years together. They enjoyed traveling and visited Africa, South America, and Europe.
Her career in education spanned over 40 years. After Wasco, they moved on to Yucca Valley, Palmdale, and Paso Robles. While in Paso Robles, she served as an administrator at the high school and later worked in the district office. She also taught classes at Cuesta Community College.
While in Wasco, Linda was a member of the First Baptist Church. Later, after moving to the Central Coast, she attended a Presbyterian church in Paso Robles. Now she rests in the loving arms of Jesus Christ, her Savior.
