IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lillie 'Pearl'
Barton
September 17, 1926 – February 26, 2012
Lillie "Pearl" Barton 1926- 2012 Lillie "Pearl" Barton was born September 17, 1926 to Lewis "Ovell" and Elsie "Violet" Wilson, in Amarillo, Texas; she passed away on February 26, 2012 in Shafter. 48 years ago our mom assumed the role of both mom and dad. She worked hard all her life and taught her kids to do the same, not to live off the state, but to work for what we have. She would do anything to help her family when they were in need, including protecting them with a fierceness of a mother bear protecting her cubs. Pearl was the center of everyone's life: her kids, grandkids, great grandkids and great-great grandkids. She always enjoyed the simple things, like everyone going to her house on the weekends for coffee. She has filled our lives so much with her presence that her journey to be with the Lord has left a hole that can never be filled. You will always be loved, and never forgotten. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, Ovell and Violet Wilson; her husband, Warren Barton; sons, Woodrow Barton and Warren Lewis Barton Sr.; grandson, Darrell Ovell Barton; sister, Katherine Rhoads; and brother Lewis Wilson. Pearl is survived by her sons; Earl "Robert" Barton and wife April, Odell Barton and wife Sherry, Kenny Barton and wife Linda, Darrell Barton and wife Allyson; her daughters, Elsie and husband David Whitbey, Linda Barton, Geraldine and husband Chris Astor; 2 brothers, Elmer Wilson and wife Virginia, Charlie Wilson and wife Pat; 1 sister, Nellie Adams; 31 grandchildren and numerous, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation for Pearl was held at Peters Funeral Home on Thursday, March 1, 2012, from 2-8pm. A graveside service was held at Shafter Memorial Park on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 10am, and David L. Whitbey offered words of comfort. Pearl's online guestbook may be viewed at www.GoldenValleyMemorialCare.com
