Leslie Lee Wilhite, was born July 13, 1926 to Willie Lee and Martha Ann (Cox) Wilhite, in Snyder, OK. He went into the military on Jan 4, 1945 at the age of 19, He was stationed in the Philippines as a Guard Patrolman. He was seperated from the military 2 years later with an honorable discharge. He received the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal & Philippine Independence Ribbon. After he had served his country he went to live with his parents in Shafter, CA. He married Marie Caton in 1950. He is survived by his ex-wife Marie seven children Belinda Aguiar, Cathy Spalton, Paul Wilhite, David Wilhite, Jenise Stimmell, Patty Faucher, Steve Wilhite & one brother Kenneth Wilhite. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He & Marie lived in Shafter CA, Brawley CA and numerous southern CA cities. He worked for Mettlers as a farmer in Kern County for several years before moving to Imperial County where he worked for the Imperial Irrigation District and Burns Security Service as a Security Guard. He retired at the age of 79. Aug 2011 he moved to Simi Valley to be near his daughter Belinda. His favorite activity was going to church to worship the Lord, playing dominoes and cards. He was a loving father and loved his ex-wife until the day he went to be with the Lord on May 13, 2014. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 10am at Griffith Baptist Church and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park.
