Leslie was born in Medford, Oregon on September 9, 1976 to Orville and Barbara Simpson. While Leslie was still an infant the family moved to Wasco. She attended local schools and graduated from Wasco Union High in 1995. Leslie married Steve Medina on October 25, 1997 and the couple started their own family; they were blessed with a son and daughter, Josh and Hailey. Leslie worked at Wasco State Prison for a short time before she was in a horrible car accident that left her paralyzed. Leslie wasn't one to give up and she never let her disability slow her down. Still an active parent, she loved spending time traveling with her children to attend sports and cheer events. The family even traveled to Utah, New York and Maryland to support Josh in his Cal Ripken Youth Baseball Championships. Leslie recently moved to Ardmore, Oklahoma where she was beginning a new adventure with a new love, David Gray. She unexpectedly passed away in Ardmore on October 5, 2015. Leslie is survived by her children, Josh Medina and Hailey Medina, and their father, Steve Medina; mother, Barbara Simpson of Bakersfield; father, Orville Simpson of Wasco; one sister, Lynda Simpson of Bakersfield; lifelong friend, Angie Ralls of Shafter; and her love, David Gray of Ardmore, OK., as well as, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Bill and Ida Tackett. Leslie's visitation was held at Peters Funeral Home in Shafter, on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 9-10am and was followed by a Memorial service at Celebration Church of the Northwest at 11am. Pastor Mark Roberts officiated the service.
