Leonard Jones passed away on August 26, 2010 at the age of 70. Leonard was born on April 24, 1940 to Dovie and David Jones, in Oklahoma. Leonard came to California with his family in the late 1940's. Leonard became a truck driver and he spent 35 years working with heavy machinery in construction and agriculture. He was a loving father, grandfather, and uncle. He enjoyed working on old cars and doing small projects. Leonard was known for being generous with his time and always willing to help a friend whenever he could. Leonard will be greatly missed by his sons Steven and wife Caren, and Stace; daughter Brenda; brother Gary and wife Vonnie Jones; sister Juanita and husband John Caton; grandchildren Marnie, Jeremy, Genae, Cory, and Jennifer; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary, son Stan, brother Donald, and Joyce. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at Peters Funeral Home in Shafter from 2-8pm. Graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Shafter Memorial Park. Pastor Charles Jester will officiate the service
