Laura Pearson was born on January 10, 1925 to John Wesley Crosby and Delia Viola Bickle, in Stigler, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents and all her siblings: Ida Marie, Jestie, Dessie, John Henry, Iva, Juanita, Clyde, Clinton "Bud" and Jackie Marie. She was also preceded by her grandson Richard Jacobsen. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband of 67 years Othel Pearson, Sr. and her children--Othel, Jr., Helen, Phyllis, Larry and Laurie. She had 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Mama worked for many years in the rose industry but her main job was her family--The bigger it got, the happier she was. We were blessed to have her for all these many years and we will miss her very much. We will always remember her on the phone when we would ask "How you doin' Mama?" She would always reply "fine and dandy and sweet as candy." There is truly a hole in our hearts that can never be filled -- we will need her Cherokee strength. A funeral service will be held at Peters Funeral Home, Wasco on Monday, January 25, at 12noon for Laura Pearson, age 85, of Shafter who passed away January 20, 2010 at home surrounded by her family. Interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park. A visitation will be held Sunday, January 24 from 2pm to 8pm.
