Laura Jean Hathcock was born June 9, 1924 in Henrietta, Oklahoma to Viola (Fulton) and Henry Judd. She married Cleo Hathcock in Chickasha, Oklahoma and they moved to Wasco in the late 1940's. Laura enjoyed working as a homemaker all her life; she was a good seamstress, made doll clothes and many other craft projects, and loved tending her flower garden. Her homemaking skills extended to hosting the family Christmas gatherings where her cooking talents were appreciated by the entire family. Laura and Cleo liked to travel in their motor home and going to casinos they passed along the way to the bi-annual Judd family reunion they attended across the states. Laura was a wonderful care-giver for her grand and great-grandchildren until about two years ago because of her health. Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Cleo in July of 1995; and son-in-law, Richard Spanel in December of 2010. She is survived by her sons, Bobby Hathcock and wife Sue, Dale Hathcock and wife Brenda; daughters, Barbara and husband Bob McClain, Francis Spanel and Phyllis and husband Ritchie Boles; sister, Vida Baker of Norman, Oklahoma; 16 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 7 great great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 11, at 1pm at Peters Funeral Home, Shafter for Laura Jean Hathcock, age, 86, of Wasco who passed away April 6, at her home. Pastor Terry Ruddell of Family Life Worship Center in McFarland will officiate and interment will follow at Shafter Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 10, from 2pm to 8pm at Peters Funeral Home, Shafter.
