Obituary

Larry Lee Ledbetter was born June 22, 1943 in Holdenville, Oklahoma one of five children born to Virgie (Brittian) and Harry Ledbetter. He graduated from Moss High School in Oklahoma where he was active in FFA. While in Oklahoma he enjoyed growing peanuts. Larry married Dicksey Walpole and they moved to California. They returned to Oklahoma for a while before settling in Wasco in 1970. Larry worked in agriculture, the rose fields and finished his career at GK Lewis Aviation. Larry was a wonderful fisherman and loved his garden. He grew okra, tomatoes and many other vegetables that he shared with family and friends. Larry served the US Army from May 24, 1966 until November 18, 1970. Larry is survived by his children, George Ledbetter and April Gurney, both of Wasco; brother, Bob Ledbetter of Oklahoma; sister, Lois Snead of Oklahoma; and 4 grandchildren, Gage Ledbetter, Jerri Gurney, Alex Trevino and Carson Trevino. He was preceded in death by Dicksey in 2001; his parents, Harry and Virgie; and 2 brothers, Vernie and James.A memorial service will be held Friday, April 4 at 3pm at Peters Funeral Home, Wasco for Larry Lee Ledbetter, age 70, of Wasco who passed away at his home April 2, 2014. Chaplain Richard Temple of Mercy Hospice will officiate and inurnment will be held in Oklahoma.
