Larry Joe Compton was born on April 21, 1944 to Robert and Leveta Compton in Chickasha, Ok. He went to be with his LORD on March 3, 2017 after a lengthy illness. Larry was a member of the Shafter Missionary Baptist Church and a faithful employee of Richland Chevrolet for 54 years. Larry loved the family farm and raised cattle in his younger years. He was an active member of F.F.A during his 4 years at Shafter High, winning many awards for his steers and hogs at county fairs. He loved life and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Cathy, sister Norma Jones (Hank), brothers, Don Compton (Mary), Fred Thomas (Sandy), step son, Kevin Lykins (Eilene), step daughter Rhonda Lykins (Dianne), niece, Pam Brown, great nephew, Nick ONeill, great niece, Shannon Brown, aunt Claudia Couch and numerous cousins and friends. We would like to express our appreciation to Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed and staff, especially Mlssa Manzilla, RN. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make donations to the American Lung Association Anti- Smoking Campaign. A Celebration of Life will be held at Shafter Missionary Church, 202 Golden West Ave., Shafter on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11am.
