LarRee "Mary" Hicks, a native of New Mexico, a 58-year resident of California and a 10-year resident of Yucca Valley, died Oct. 31, 2008, at Hi-Desert Medical Center. She was 74 years old. She was born to George Ford and Ethel Irene Graves on Feb. 15, 1934. Mrs. Hicks was a crossing guard for the Riverside Police Department for 25 years and was retired. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Joe E. Hicks of Yucca Valley, son Michael Hicks of Granite Hills, Wash., daughters Deborah Resener and Debbie Mokross, both of Riverside, and Kim Woss of Yucca Valley, grandson Jared Hicks of Yucca Valley, whom she helped raise, eight additional grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A viewing will be held at 9 a.m. Nov. 10 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 56885 Onaga Trail in Yucca Valley. A service following at 10 a.m. will be officiated by Bishop A. Mechem. Interment with a graveside service will be at 2 p.m. at Riverside National Cemetery.
