Kenneth Wayne Smith, a 62-year resident of California and 27-year resident of Pioneertown, died at home Sept. 22, 2012. He was 63 years old. The son of Burton Edward Smith and Elizabeth Leilani Keliinoi, he was born Feb. 2, 1949, in Leavenworth, Kan. Mr. Smith was a musician and carpenter for 45 years. He enjoyed playing guitar, writing music and art. His brother preceded him in death. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 45 years, Marianne Smith of Pioneertown; Shamynare and Gino Pullaro, his daughter and son-in-law, of Yucca Valley; Wayne Smith and Autumn Smith-Wilson, his son and daughter-in-law, of Victorville; Jessica and Victor Horton, his daughter and son-in-law, of Yucca Valley; and Sky and Jennifer Smith, his son and daughter-in-law, of Joshua Tree. His grandchildren, Nick Pullaro of Yucca Valley, Madison and Preslee Smith of Victorville, Megan and Makana Horton of Yucca Valley and Melissa and Chloe Smith of Joshua Tree, also survive Mr. Smith in death. A viewing will be held noon to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Joshua Tree Memorial Park in Joshua Tree. A graveside service follows at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Joshua Tree Memorial Park.
