Kenneth Vaughn Settlemire 84, of Wasco CA, passed away Sunday, January 7th 2024 after a

long illness. He was born in Wasco, California, July 22nd, 1939 to Floyd and Gertrude

Settlemire. He worked for the North Kern Water Storage district for over 20 years. Before this he

farmed grapes in Shafter, CA, for 10 years. He was a member of the Wasco Free Will Baptist

Church for 36 years where he was a long standing trustee and board member. He faithfully met

the needs of the community by delivering boxes of food to families in need for over 30 years.

He was preceded in death by Edward Applewhite.

He is survived by his wife Betty Settlemire who he was married to for 48 years, his sister

Rachel, brother Ronnie, daughters Debbie, Deann, Brenda, and Penny. As well as 13

grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held January 16th from 4-8 P.M. at Peters Funeral Home in Wasco with

Graveside on January 17th at 10 A.M. at the Wasco Cemetery.
