Kenneth Buck Miller was born February, 17, 1949 in Fresno, California to Robert and Willie Pearl (Christensen) Miller. The family moved to Shafter when Bucky was young and he attended Shafter elementary schools and Shafter High School with the Class of 1967. Bucky married Margie Franks in 1972 in Shafter and they continued to make Shafter their home. He worked first as a dealer and later as floor supervisor at Golden West Casino and before that he also worked for Yellow Pages and The Condor. Bucky's favorite card game was "Hold 'um". Bucky gave up gambling when he started serving God. He was a member of the 7th Standard Pentecostal Church of God. Bucky made many friends and his family will miss him dearly. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 35 years, Margie Sue Miller of Shafter; sons, Kenneth Miller, Jr. and Toby Miller and wife Cassie, all of Shafter and Mark Franks and wife Robin of Idaho; brothers, Troy Miller and wife Candice of Oregon, Robert Miller of Visalia, Bobby Miller and wife Linda of Coalinga and Jimmy Miller and wife, Cheryl of Alabama; sisters, Joe-Anne Pressley of Shafter, Rhonda McMillen of Coalinga, Joyce Akman and husband Larry of Visalia, and Linda Miller of Redlands. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister, Kathy Elrod who passed away in Texas in 2007. A funeral service will be held Friday, July 13, at 10am at 7th Standard Pentecostal Church of God. Pastor Jim Glasco will officiate and interment will follow at Shafter Memorial Park.
