Kenny was born in Quinton, Ok., on December 26, 1928, to parents Roy and Sarah (Basden) Marchman. Kenny moved to Shafter, Ca. when he was just 8 years old. He graduated from Shafter High, and then served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked for over 50 years as a mechanic, and owned Kenny's Garage located in Shafter. Kenny loved visiting with people and telling stories. His favorite music was old Country/Western music. Some of his favorite hobbies included racing cars, riding motorcycles and water skiing. Kenny is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 47 years, Jewell Marchman. He is survived by his 3 children, Ken Marchman and wife Scarlett of Tucson Az., Brenda and husband Keith Hansen of Princeton, Ca. and Homer Ellis and wife Missy of Mandeville, La.; 2 sisters, Betty Easter of Shafter, and Judy and husband Lannis Cates of Bakersfield; grandchildren, Mickey, Monte, Abbe, Andria, Samantha, Macie and Mandie; great grandchildren, Tiffany, Amy, Amanda, Seth, Renee, Cole, Brittany and Brenna; and a great great granddaughter, Journey. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011 beginning at 11:00am, at Shafter Memorial Park. Pastor Jim Williams will officiate.
