IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenneth Ray
Killian
January 11, 1937 – August 20, 2022
Ken Killian was born January 11, 1937, to George and Drucilla Killian, in Greenfield, OK. He passed away in Bakersfield, CA on August 20, 2022, at the age of 85. As a young child Ken migrated to the Arvin, CA area where he attended elementary, junior high, and finally graduating high school in 1954 as a proud Arvin Bear. He joined the Navy after graduation and was stationed on the USS Boxer as part of the aviation team. Less than 4 years later he had achieved the rank of "E-5." Ken favored telling stories of flying in aircraft operating the radar and sonar systems. He played an instrumental role in developing the tracking system for the first Minuteman Missile. After serving 4 years in the Navy, he attended Cerritos College where he studied math and electronics engineering. Ken found himself joining Autonetics Inc/Rockwell International and working on developing several tools and systems for which he received multiple commendations and notices recommending he pursue patents for his inventions and these systems. The designer in Ken led him to draw up blueprints for four of his homes which he built himself including a log cabin from the ground up. He spent his retired years in St George, UT moving to Bakersfield in 2005 to start construction on his final home close to family. It was here he also found his church family at Grace Baptist Church in 2006. Ken was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Janet Dunn; and daughter in law, Tena Killian. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Dottie; his children, Judy (Lee) Blakley, Doug Killian, Kim (Elmer) Aldridge, Shelley Elliott, Wade (Melinda) Felty, and Dustin Felty; along with 16 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Dad was an avid hunter and enjoyed fostering his love of the outdoors in his family whenever he got the chance. His appetite for adventure and travel was unending seeing most of the 50 states and Canada during his lifetime. He loved to share his love of Jesus with everyone he knew
