Kenny was born in Blanchard Oklahoma on September 22, 1932, to his parents Ora and Rube Barker. He is preceded in death by his parents Ora and Rube, his brother RV and his beloved wife Maxine. Kenny passed away Monday evening January 30th, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family. Around 1940, he moved to California and then eventually settled in Shafter. He went to Shafter High where he met the love of his life, Maxine. The two were married June 23, 1951. They loved each other and were happily married for 65 years. In Bakersfield, he and Maxine raised their 3 children Michael Barker (Kary), Denise Krikorian (Jeff), and Roger Barker (Kim). Kenny proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the Marines during the Korean War. By trade, he was a barber and owned and operated several barber shops for 15 years. He used his barber skills all his life and gave every son, grandson and great-grandson their first hair cut in his barber chair. After being a barber he worked for Getty where he retired. He is survived by his 3 children and their spouses, his sister-in-law Margret Mello, 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and nieces, and nephews. To his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was Papa. He loved fishing, NASCAR, the 49ers, and wood carving. He was one of the kindest persons you would ever meet and was loved by everyone. Papa will be greatly missed. Services will be held February 15th, 12:30 pm at Bakersfield National Cemetery (30338 East Bear Mountain Blvd Arvin, CA 93203).
