Kathryn Carmen Meachem, a 23-year resident of Yucca Valley, died at home June 27, 2012. She was 57 years old. The daughter of Terry Joseph Medley and Thelma Dare Simson, she was born Dec. 20, 1954, in Carthage, Mo. Mrs. Meachem was a nurse for 10 years. She is survived by her husband of 4 1/2 years, Stephen Meachem of Yucca Valley; her children, Jennifer Lynn Ingram, Layla Gene Medley, Edward Medley and Bandy Lepp; her brother, Steven Warburg; her sisters, Tina Lois Burrows and Brena Lee Sakranger; and her mother, Thelma Dare Simson. She also is survived by 10 grandchildren.
