Kari Vincent Tribute Video

Kari was born January 19, 1957 in Bakersfield, CA to Eugene and Loretta Dirksen. She grew up in Bakersfield and attended Bakersfield Adventist Academy. Her childhood was filled with fun and laughter.

After high school she attended PUC then transferred to Bakersfield College and graduated from the Registered Nursing program.  She worked as a nurse at Mercy, Mercy SW, and various care centers in Bakersfield. Her last place of employment was CBCC where she loved her co-workers and patients so much.

As great of a nurse that she was, she was an even better Mom and Nana. Kari has two daughters who she loved more than anything and she loved spending time with. Yard sales, pedicures, and lots of laughs will be forever with us. They were her life and kept her going through the years.

But really her favorite thing in the world was being a Nana! Her four babies were her world and she adored each and every one of them. She enjoyed day trips, going to the park, Nana sleep overs, makeovers, movies, and just being with them anytime she could. They will miss her and cherish all of their memories!

She is survived by her daughters Alison (Matt) Abrams and Breanna (Jonathan) Plumley. Her four grandchildren: Mason Abrams, Molly Plumley, McKenzie Abrams, and Joseph Plumley. She is also survived by many other cherished family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Gene and Loretta Dirksen and many other family members.

Thank you to the doctors at USC Keck, the transplant team, and her caregiver Lilia for their continued care. Thank you to Hoffman Hospice and their team for taking care of our mom at the end. And a special thank you to all of her friends who have been on this journey with us as we loved and supported our mom and best friend.
