Obituary

Juliana Llanas was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico on April 12, 1931 to Preciliana (Coronado) and Pedro Ramirez. She married Epifanio in 1949 and 14 years later came to Shafter where they raised their 8 children. Juliana was a woman of God, a devout catholic and a member St. Theresas' Grupo de Oracion . She was "Mother" to all of her children, grand children and great-grand children. Her cooking was her love next to serving the Lord. She welcomed everyone with open arms, a smile on her face and a warm heart. She was a very patient in all areas of her life. Juliana even nurtured every plant as if it was a member of her family, always concerned her garden would be watered when she was away. Juliana is preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Epifanio t. Llanas (1998) and is survived by their sons, Epifanio Jr and wife Rosario, Jose Luis and wife Juliana, Geronimo and wife Juanita, Ricardo and wife Irma, Manuel Llanas and wife Mari; daughters, Maria Rodriguez and husband Frank Jr., Irma Benitez and husband Mauricio, Rosalinda Ybarra and husband Serafin III; sisters Rafaela Coronado and Maria Guadalupe Corona; 21 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A Christian Burial Service will be held for Juliana Llanas, age 77, Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 10 am at St. Therese's Catholic Church with internment immediately following at Shafter Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 25th from 2-5:30 pm at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary at 6 pm at St. Therese's.
