Julian Tijerina was born January 28, 1936 In Jourdanton, Texas to Juan and Rosaura (Vasquez) Tijerina. He grew up in Texas and moved to Arizona, before settling in California. Julian lived in Shafter for 10 years and Wasco for the last 23 years. He married Margaret Nunez Lopez November 11, 1967 in Arizona. Julian was a hard worker who held down two jobs most of his life. He worked for Jackson and Perkins, as the parts runner in the equipment repair shop and also supplied water to the workers for 33 years until he retired in 2000. He also had his own business, Julian's Lawn Service for over 40 years. Julian enjoyed gardening and taking care of his grandkids. Julian had a good heart and will be missed by his family. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 40 years, Margaret of Wasco; sons, Julian, Jr. and his wife Ann of Arizona and Andrew and his wife Dora Beatrice of Wasco; daughters, Lydia Gomez and husband Leo, Linda Moreno and husband Armando , both of Arizona, Sylvia Barraza and husband Lorenzo of New Mexico, Julia Arrazate and husband Oscar of Wasco, Judy C. Reyna and husband Juan Carlos of Bakersfield, Ruby Dominguez and husband Pete of Wasco and JoAnn Tijerina of Wasco; 26 (and 1 on the way) grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends. Julian was preceded in death by his son, Jaime Lopez, parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held Friday, November 30, at 6pm at St. John's Church and a Mass of the Christian Burial will be said, Saturday, December 1, at 11am. Fr. John Fluetsch will officiate the service and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park. A visitation will start Friday, November 30, 2007 at Peters Funeral Home.
