Obituary

A service for Judy Novak Madsen will be held at 5 p.m. Feb. 4 at the High Desert Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Joshua Tree, Pastor Darrell officiating. A two-year resident of California and Joshua Tree, Mrs. Madsen died at home Jan. 7, 2009. She was 65 years old. She was born to Yul Gaunce and Ida Mae Redding Dodson July 27, 1943, in Texas. Mrs. Madsen was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by brothers Kenneth Gaunce, Billy Gaunce and Carl Gaunce, son David Novak and daughter Bobbie Novak. She is survived by brother Guy Gaunce of San Luis Obispo; sons Kenny Novak and Tracy Novak, both of Tucker, Ariz., Ronnie Novak of Joshua Tree and Brian Novak of Twentynine Palms; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three nieces; three nephews; and a host of other relatives. In lieu of flowers, her family requests memorial donations be made to the Visiting Nurses Association of Yucca Valley hospice.
