Judy Ann Davis was born in Bakersfield, California to Beauford and Violet (Turpin) Howard. She was raised in Shafter, where she attended local schools. Judy married Ellis Davis 42 years ago and together they raised two children. Judy was a loving mother and enjoyed being with her family. Her caring, selfless nature made her the best mom. Judy cherished moments when she got to play card games with her children and grandchildren. She was protective of her family at all times and wanted nothing more but to keep them safe. Judy would do anything for anyone she loved, especially her children. She was often the problem solver for anyone who had troubles. Judy was especially fond of animals and if there were any stray animals in the area she would try to find them homes or feed them so they had a chance at life. Judy had a special relationship with her mother and would call her daily to make sure she was well and available for a lengthy phone conversation. They had a wonderful mother/ daughter relationship and would spend their time together often playing Yahtzee for hours at a time. Judy passed away on July 13, 2015 at her home at the age of 62. She is survived by her husband, Ellis Davis; son, Jeremy Davis; daughter, Crystal Davis Taylor; grandchildren, Aidan Taylor and Tiffany Davis. She is preceded in death by her parents, Beauford and Violet Howard; sister, Frances Hendricks; brother, Jim Howard. A graveside service will be held at Shafter Memorial Park on Tuesday July 21, 2015 at 10am.
