Judy Ann Guenther Butler was born to Eugene and Wilma Guenther in Bakersfield in 1955 and raised in Shafter. Judy passed away peacefully on Friday, June 29 in Bakersfield. She was a proud graduate of Shafter High School and looked back fondly at her time as a song leader. She loved children, her cats, sports, bunco and the beach. She loved her circle of friends, who faithfully visited her throughout her illness. Judy was known to always go the extra mile for her friends, family and their love for her was a blessing. She is survived by her beloved son Scott Butler, sister, Jean Fuller, Russell Fuller, God sister, Janet Bruschi and other cherished family members along with her longtime companion Mike Hassett. The proudest accomplishment of her life was raising her and Greg Butler's son, Scott Butler. A private funeral will be held for family and close friends Friday. A public reception will be held at Don Pepes, 301 E Lerdo Hwy, Shafter, CA 93263 on Friday July 6th, at 4:30.
