Juanita Verdoza was born June 24, 1929 in Texas to Manuel and Marcelina Bocanerga. Juanita married Jose Jesus Flores and raised their six children in Texas. She moved to the Central Valley and made Shafter her home for many years. Juanita was a very independent and strong woman. She was a very loving mother who worked hard to provide for her family. Juanita always found a way to keep busy taking care of children, cleaning houses and later in life she worked as a farm laborer in agriculture. She passed away June 12, 2017 in Fresno, California, at the age of 87. She leaves behind four children Manuel Flores, Melida Cortez, Mari Cortez, Melba Valdez; 18 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and family members. Juanita is preceded in death by her parents Manuel and Marcelina Bocanerga; her husband Jose Jesus Flores; sons Matt Flores and Mario Flores. A memorial service is Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 10AM, at Peters Funeral Home in Shafter, CA.
