Juanita Mae Ramay passed away December 3, 2009 in her residence. She was born in Hugo, Oklahoma on March 31, 1931 to Otha (Cody) and Luther Masser. She came to her hometown of Shafter as a young teenager, attended and graduated from Shafter High School in 1949, the same year she married her wonderful husband Hardy Ramay Jr. They had 3 strong boys and watched them grow up locally. Juanita was a passionate reader, had a number of pen pals all over the world, but kept in touch with two special friends in the Philippines. If Juanita knew your birthday, she had a timely birthday card in the mail for you; family members, friends and loved ones looked forward to receiving them. She kept an annual journal, writing everything that was important for her to keep, She was a long time parishioner of the 7th Standard Pentecostal Church of God, a prayer warrior and sounding board for many who needed a shoulder to lean on and hear her strong faith get them through. Juanita was preceded in death by her loving husband Hardy Ramay Jr.,(1986); brothers Luther Jr., John and Bill Masser and survived by her sons Jackie Reed and wife Barb Ann, Michael Ramay and wife Carol and Jimmy Ramay; brother, Walt Messer; sisters Marie Miller and Lou Adams; mother-in-law Sylvia Ramay; 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and one that she didn't get to meet, but loved by her in spirit. A celebration of life memorial service will be held for Juanita Mae Ramay, age 78, of Shafter, Thursday, December 10, 2009 – 11 am at 7th Standard Pentecostal Church of God officiated by Pastor Jim Glasco.
