A funeral service will be held Wed. February 28, at 11am at Arvin Funeral Home for Juanita Jones, age 82, of Bakersfield who passed away February 25, in Bakersfield. Pastor Craig Amos of Arvin Assembly of God Church will officiate and interment will follow at South Kern Cemetery District. Viewing for Juanita will take place Tuesday, February 27, from 2-8pm at Arvin Funeral Home. Juanita was born in Alma, Arkansas on June 6, 1924 to Levi and Mary Pope. She married on August 23, 1948 to James Jones and moved to kern county in 1965. Juanita was a wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed reading, art, western movies especially with John Wayne. She loved her parrot Peanut. Juanita was an inspiration to her daughters and will be dearly missed. Juanita is survived by her daughters, Paulette and husband Kenneth Tate, Janice and husband Kenneth Beyard, Elyce and husband Earl Hughes, and Patsy Wikle; her grandchildren, James, Kenny, Greg, Sheila, Tammy, Mary, Dale Lee, Christopher, Shawn and Steven; and 19 great-grandchildren. Juanita is preceded in death by her husband James Jones.
