Joseph Wallace
Turner
August 22, 1924 – November 29, 2009
Joseph Wallace Turner was born and raised in Canton, Ohio, and graduated from St. John's High School in 1942. He entered the Navy in 1943 and served until 1946. He met Margie at the first of which became many dances and they were married in 1949. They followed Joe's job with PacBell to a new job in California in 1954. After 35 years with PacBell they retired and got serious about seeing the country by RV and traveling the world. Joe also was the first guy to volunteer at the Guild House Restaurant, from 1988 – 2003. He played a mean hand of bridge and dominoes with the best of them. Joe is survived by his wife Margie; son Joe; daughter- in- law Mary; daughter Sharon. The family is so thankful for the love Joe received from the gals at the Carrington of Bakersfield and Odyssey Healthcare Services. Msgr. Ralph Belluomini will officiate mass for Joseph W. Turner, age 85, of Bakersfield, at 12:00 noon Thursday, December 3, 2009, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, recitation of the Holy Rosary will commence at 11:30am.
