Obituary

Joseph Anthony Torres was born on October 22, 1940, in Bishop CA., to Anthony and Della (Contreras) Torres. Joseph attended Our Lady of Grace elementary school, in high school, Joseph was known as "Tuna", to his Garces classmates. Joseph did two tours of duty in Vietnam and one in Korea and Panama. Joseph was a member of the VFW-97, he was very proud of his military background . He worked in Glendale as an electrician / cement-construction. In 1981 Joseph came back to Bakersfield, where he was involved with the remodeling of the San Clement Mission. Joseph liked to read and watch sports, his favorite teams were the Rams and the Dodgers. Joseph is preceded in death by his parents and brother; Fredric Torres. Joseph leaves behind a daughter; Tami Martinez of Bakersfield, 3 Grandchildren. Sister; Antoinette Tijerina, of Bakersfield. Many nieces and nephews, and loving family members. Visitation will be held at Hopson –Anspach chapel on February 22, at 5-7 pm. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held February 22, at 7pm. At Hopson –Anspach Family Mortuary. Mass of a Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help on February 23, at 10am.
