Joseph Raymond Simpkins November 30, 1993 – January 29, 2012 Joseph Raymond Simpkins was born November 30, 1993 in Bakersfield, California to Priscilla and Harold C. Simpkins, Jr. Joseph was raised in Wasco, attended Wasco elementary schools and was a student at the Community Learning Center on 34th Street in Bakersfield. He enjoyed riding his bicycle and 'chillin' with his friends. He liked watching sports on TV; football, basketball and hockey, but Nascar racing was his favorite. Joseph Raymond Simpkins was a great young man, his family will never forget the memories they shared with him. Joseph is survived by his parents Harold and Priscilla Simpkins, Jr; brother, Mikael Simpkins; sister, Melinda George of Pennsylvania; grandparents, Harold and Barbara Simpkins, Sr. of Wasco and Velda and Don Sanders of Lindsay, and Ermadel Green of Santa Maria; niece, Lana; nephew, Tyler; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 11, 2012, at 11am at Celebrations of the Northwest on Rosedale Hwy in Bakersfield. Arrangements are under the direction of Peters Funeral Home.
