Joseph "Joe" R. Terceira Jr., a native of Fall River, Mass., a 41-year resident of California and a 30-year resident of Yucca Valley, died July 25, 2008, of cancer. He was 74 years old. Mr. Terceira was an electrician and was retired. He was a member of the IBEW and the Moose Lodge. He loved to tell stories and play guitar and his music will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Doris M. Terceira, and his son, Joseph Michael Terceira. He is survived by daughters Joyce Terceira of Yucca Valley and Rose Spellman of Upland, son Richard Terceira of Oahu, Hawaii, grandchildren Samantha, Jennifer, Angie, Brad, Stacie, Jonathan, Paige, Corben and Kaleah and nine great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Aug. 10 in the Moose Lodge located at 58266 Reche Road in Landers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Visiting Nurses Association, the Yucca Valley Senior Center or the Meals on Wheels Program.
