Jose Angel Verdugo was born on December 1, 1949 in Sataya Navolato, Sinaloa to Jose Simon and Rosario (Maduena) Verdugo. Jose was an avid casino goer, where he was happiest trying his luck at winning it "Big" and having fun. He spent a lot of his time in the Shafter plaza sitting by the fountain enjoying many cigarettes. Although, Jose was always smiling and being funny; he often had a temper. That temper and strength was evident as he fought through his illness for many years. Jose was 65 years old when he passed away on March 30, 2015 in Bakersfield, California. His family will always love him and he will remain in their' hearts forever. Jose is survived by his brothers, Simon (Bertha) Verdugo, Sergio (Elizabeth) Verdugo, Martin (Rosa Maria) Verdugo, Ramon (Lilia) Verdugo, Jesus Verdugo, and Rafael Verdugo, sisters; Herlinda Verdugo and Maria De La Luz Verdugo (Jose Lucano); 29 nieces and nephews. Jose is preceded in death by his parents Jose and Rosario Verdugo; niece Christina Verdugo. The mass of Christian burial was officiated by Father David Enriquez on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 1pm at St. Therese Catholic Church. A visitation was held Tuesday, April 7, 2015 from 2-8pm at Peters Funeral Home Chapel in Shafter, California with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6pm. Jose es precedido en la muerte de sus padres José y Rosario Verdugo; sobrina Christina Verdugo. La Misa de entierro cristiano fue oficiada por el padre David Enriquez en miércoles, 08 de abril de 2015 a las 1pm en la iglesia católica St. Therese. Una visita fue martes, 7 de abril de 2015 de 2-8 pm en la capilla funeraria de Peters en Shafter, California con una recitación del Santo Rosario a las 6pm.
