Jose Ramirez Salazar was born in Jalpa Zacatecas, Mexico on June 5, 1922 to parents Federico Ramirez and Jesusita Salazar Flores. Jose met the love of his life, Maria Torres, as a young boy in Mexico. Both their families immigrated to California together. Jose was a hard worker and provider for his family. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and family. Jose entered eternal rest on February 23, 2020 surrounded by loved ones. He was 97 years old. Jose is survived by his beloved wife of 74 years, Maria Torres De Ramirez; sons, Daniel Ramirez and spouse, Marcos Ramirez and spouse, Rogelio Ramirez, Jose Manuel Ramirez, Antonio Ramirez and spouse; daughters, Maria Yonaki and spouse, Leticia Singleterry, Teresa Vasquez and spouse; 21 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Jaime Ramirez and Daughter -in- law, Josie Ramirez. A viewing will be held Friday, February 28, 2020 at 9am at Peters Funeral Home in Shafter. A Funeral service will be officiated by Father Jose Luis Rico Friday, February 28, 2020 at 10am at Peters Funeral Home in Shafter.
