Obituary

I have fought the good fight, I have run my course, I have finished my race. I have drank from both the cup of adversity and the cup of exceeding gladness and joy, only to come to my reward, my eternity Himself, Christ Jesus. On April 25, 2009, Jose Ybarra Orozco returned to his crown and to his glory. He left as only a gentleman could leave, most graciously and peacefully alongside the most high and excellent Jesus. Joe entered into the arena of life on January 30, 1919. As a young man, he entered into the arena of boxing, fighting both as an amateur and as a professional boxer. He was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad Company where he retired after 37 years of service. But his passion was boxing. For years he promoted the sport of boxing and wrestling for the Strelich Bros. and was an avid fan of the sport. Joe was preceded in death by his spouse of 53 years, (Carmen) and a son (Lawrence) and is survived by daughters, Mary Orozco, Lupe Orozco, Ann Spencer (Eric), Lorrie Pressley (Eldridge); and a son, Michael. He is also survived by grandchildren, Lavonda Faucett (Clinton), Stefanie Spencer (Darin), Patrick and Samantha Orozco; and 5 great-grandchildren, C.J., Arik, Nicolas, and Taylor Faucett and Amari Williams. A special applaud to the faithfulness of his caregivers Ruth Reyes and his son and daughters for the special sacrifices and manifold compassions over the past 13 years as a stroke survivor. The labor of love in keeping Dad in the comfort of his own home and in the hands of his own loved ones has been more than a blessing and an expression of the unforgettable gift of the extravagant love of our God. Many thanks for the many expressions of your love, support and prayers in the time of our bereavement. The family of Joe Y. Orozco.
