Jose "Gordo" Nunez Jr., age 45, of Wasco, CA, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 3:20 a.m. at his home in the comfort of his loved ones. Jose had many nicknames that was given to him by his family and friends; he was named "Gordo", "Joser", and "El Destroyer". Jose was born in Los Angeles, CA on August 8, 1969 where he spent a lot of his childhood years. In 1980 his family moved to Wasco, CA, which became his home for the remainder of his life. Jose attended Wasco High School, he was a classmate of the graduating Class of 1987. Jose was a great handy man and a highly skilled mechanic. He was ready and willing to help his family and friends when they needed his help any time of the day. Jose worked for many years for his father Joe in the family business, R & H Trim Shop. For the last 10 years he was employed by Lopez Farm, which is now Kern Labor. Jose was a valued employee and he will be missed deeply by those he worked closely with. Jose is survived by his father Jose T. Nunez Sr.; brother Gilbert Alegria and nieces Jessica Scott and Monique Alegria; brother Tony Nunez and Anna Nunez and niece Savannah Nunez and nephew AJ Nunez, all of Wasco; sister Teresa De Aguilera and James De Aguilera and nieces Alexis Garnica, Ariona Garnica, and Amanda Garnica of Redlands, CA; and goddaughter Vanessa Esquivel of Wasco, CA. He is preceded in death by his mother Esperanza "Hope" Nunez and niece Alyssa Hope Nunez. Jose loved his family and during the last few years of his life Jose made sure to spend quality time with his family and close friends, instilling in everyone the importance of family and treasuring life's moments. A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 pm at 402 Birch Ave., Wasco, CA
