Jose "Pepe" Lopez was born February 26, 1941 to Margarita Martinez and was adopted by Juan and Flavia Lopez on October 22, 1945. Pepe was born in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico and grew up in the county of Hidalgo, Texas. He enlisted in the United States Air Force at the age of 17. He served his country for over 20 years as a military police officer, painter and mechanic. He enjoyed shopping with his daughter and son, crocheting and spoiling his grandchildren. Pepe is preceded in death by his parents Juan and Flavia Lopez, Brothers Fernando Lopez, Juan Gilberto Lopez, Ruben Lopez, niece Alice Lopez and nephew Marcos Garcia. He is survived by his beloved wife Olimpia Rios Lopez; son Jorge Luis Lopez (Estela); daughter Monica Lopez-Ishida and (Alfonso); son Norman J Lopez; grandchildren JJ Lopez, Rozelyn Lopez, Daniel Gonzales Jr, Edward Gonzales, Serena Ishida and Ellie Ishida; brothers Esteban Lopez (Lupe), Ricardo Lopez (Lydia), Alejandro Lopez (Teresa), Ramiro Lopez (Jackie), Raul Lopez (Ester); sisters Josie Arvizo (Bentura), Raquel Gutierrez (Adan), Diana Garcia (Lupe); sister in laws Carmen Lopez and Griselda Rodriguez. Jose "Pepe" Lopez passed away on June 26, 2014 at the Golden Living Center, Shafter, California. The Mass of the Resurrection was officiated by Father Lucas Azpericueta at St. Theresa's Catholic Church on Tuesday July 1, 2014 at 12noon. A visitation was held on Monday June 30, 2014 at Peters Funeral Home Chapel at 4pm with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6pm.
