Jose (Joe) Jesus Perez was born in Chupicuaro, Guanajuato, Mexico on August 22, 1965 to Maria Estela (Perea) and Jesus Perez. He passed away July 4, 2009. He was raised in Shafter and attended the local schools graduating from Shafter High School in 1984. He married Rocio Covarrubias in 1989 at St. Therese's Church in Shafter, they had 4 precious children. He graduated from San Joaquin Valley School as a certified electrician/electronics. He was a 20 year member of IBEW-Local 428 and worked for A-C Electric for 16 years. He was an excellent employee and was always requested by name. Joe enjoyed being around and relaxing at home with his children, as they were his pride and joy. Some of their best vacations were taken in Santa Cruz. Joe was a wonderful person and excellent provider. The family always relied on him as "Dr. Joe"; If it was broken, Joe could fix it. Joe Jesus Prerez was preceded in death by his son Eric, who died at birth in 1991. He is survived by his loving wife, Rocio of 20 years; sons, Joevan, Max and Marc Perez; daughter, Emily; parents, Maria Estela and Jesus Perez; brothers, Sergio and Carla Perez , Mario and Mandie Perez, Rogelio Perez; sisters, Estela Perez and Amador Frijo, Christina and Richard Ramirez, Patricia and Domingo Ramirez, many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and many family members. Joe was loved and respected by all. He will be missed but will live in our hearts forever. Mass of the Resurrection will be held for Joe Jesus Perez, age 43, Friday, July 10 – 10 am at St. Therese's Catholic Church with interment immediately following at Shafter Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 9th from 2 to 5:30 pm at Peters Funeral Home Chapel. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at St. Therese's Catholic Church - 6pm.
