Jose Luis Espericueta, 66 years old, passed away on September 7, 2021, in Bakersfield, California. Jose Luis Espericueta was born in Edinburg, Texas to Jose Rogelio and Beatrice Zamora Espericueta on November 25, 1954. He attended school in Edinburg, Texas and graduated from Shafter High School in 1972 and received his Associates Degree from Bakersfield College in 1974. He married Martha Aurelia Roque Espericueta on October 19, 1974, in Shafter, California. He worked for Kern County in various positions such as public health, hazardous materials, environmental health, and landfill gas throughout his adult life until his retirement on June 24, 2010. He was associate pastor at the Primera Iglesia Bautista in Shafter for several years. He was also an avid cyclist in his younger years. His favorite pastime was involving his grandchildren in projects. These included auto repair and maintenance, welding, and woodworking. Jose Luis Espericueta is preceded in death by his father Jose Rogelio Espericueta, his sister Sylvia (Charlie) Flores and his brother Rolando Espericueta. Jose Luis Espericueta is survived by his wife Martha Aurelia Espericueta; daughter Monalisa Espericueta Maran and her husband Johnny Maran; daughter Monica Espericueta Gutierrez and her husband Antonio Gutierrez; grandchildren Paulie Daniel Salazar, Joshua Martin Maran, Jacob Myles Maran, and Priscilla Helena Salazar; his mother Beatrice Zamora Espericueta; siblings LeRoy (Frances) Espericueta, Homer (Brigette) Espericueta, Fernando (Carmen) Espericueta, Noel (Ester) Espericueta, Dina (Fidel Jr.) Perez, Elma (Adrian) Esparza, Linda (Daniel) Hernandez, Edna (Hernan, dec.) Gorena, Dolores (David) Anzaldua.
