Jose M. Corcostegui was born March 6, 1943 in San Andres de Echevarria, Spain to Maria (Ibarzabal) and Angel Corcostegui. He was one of four sons. Jose came to Kern County in the 1960s and worked as a sheep herder for Zalba-Azparren and Frank Gallanena. In his younger days he played Jai Alai in Italy and Spain. Jose was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Angel. He is survived by his son, Andrew of New York; and 2 brothers, Pedro & wife Mari Carmen and Domingo and wife, all of Spain. Visitation will be held Monday, July 14 at Peters Funeral Home from 4pm to 8 pm. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 15 at Wasco Memorial Park at 10 am.
