Jose Luis Contreras Herrera was born in Mexico on August 25, 1959 to parents Everardo Herrera and Irma Contreras. Jose came to the United States as a young man through the Bracero Program. He was patriotic and served honorably in the Marines. Jose was a hard worker and provider for his family. Jose entered eternal life on November 25, 2020 at his home in Arvin surrounded by loved ones. Jose is survived by his beloved wife, Theresa Vietti- Herrera; sons, Marcos Antonio Herrera, Jason (Jeannie) Christy, Francisco (Ana) Herrera; grandchildren, William Freisinger, Adrianna Freisinger, Noelani Christy, Nena Christy, Erick Martinez, Tatiana Herrera, Christian Herrera; sisters, Rosa (David) Arvizo, Marcela (Daniel) Herrera, Ruth (David) Casteñeda, Irma (Moisez) Preciado; sister-in- law, Angela (Tom) Bracken; brothers, Eduardo (Yvette) Herrera, Victor (Virginia) Herrera, Ricardo (Monica) Herrera, Everardo Herrera, Enrique Herrera; brother- in- laws, Larry (Anna) Vietti, Michael (Kathleen) Vietti, Chris Vietti; numerous nieces and nephews.
