John was an amazing father to his four children: Cara Gould, Candice Adams (Albert) and Cory Ogborn (Sara); his son Curtis preceded him in death in 2014. John leaves behind his siblings: Jeanetta King, Stella Yocum, and Wesley Ogborn. In addition to his siblings and children, John leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Stella, and her children: Jay and Mikki. His mother-in-law, Maria Garcia; his brothers and sisters-in-law: Melesio & Rosa Cortez; Bob & Mary Stratton; Henry & Ana Uranday; Joe & Yvonne Garcia; Eric & Sylvia Smith; Norma McKee; Raul & Angela Garcia and Carlos Garcia; as well as his grandchildren: Christopher and Cynthia Flynt, Caleb Adams, Andrew and Jacqueline Silva, Christopher, Tiffany and Catrina Gould, John-Curtis Ogborn, and Preston Slade Campos; his five great grandchildren: Joshua and Caroline Flynt, Leon Silva, Paisley and Rylee Gould and numerous nephews, nieces and other family members. John had a way with babies; he loved babies! For all of us who knew him and loved him, he leaves a huge void in our lives. John was a strong family man and provider; he worked for 34 years at Paramount Farms. After his retirement, he enjoyed camping and traveling with his family as well as riding motorcycles and driving his classic truck. He cared about people and his community; he served as a school board member and as Chairman of the Omni Medical Board of Directors. At the time of his death, John was attending Grace Assembly of God Church in Bakersfield. We find comfort in the promises of our Lord that he is no longer in pain and resting safely in the arms of our Savior Jesus Christ, and we will see each other again in eternity. The Celebration of Life for John will be held at Peters Funeral Home at 1401 – 7th Street, Wasco, on Monday, December 23, 2019, at 10:30 in the morning.
