Johnnie Mae "Bell" Brooks August 25, 1945 - February 9, 2007 Johnnie Mae Bell Brooks was born August 25, 1945 in Bakersfield, California to John and Rose (Isaac) Bell. She grew up in Wasco and got her education at the local schools. She moved in 2001 to Minnesota and help raised her grandbabies. Grandma Johnnie, as her grandkids would call her, loved to read, sew, knit and go to the casino. Johnnie is survived by her husband Dale A. Brooks, daughter; Keara Huston- Nadeau of Baldwin, Wisconsin, son; Patrick Patten of Madera and 8 grandchildren and 1 great grand-child, brother; John E. Bell of Bakersfield, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother; Carl Bell, sisters; Flora Bell and Rose Watkins. A graveside service under the direction of Peters Funeral Home was held Thursday, February 15, at 1:00 PM at Wasco Memorial Park. Reverend Robert Lutjens of Lutheran Church of Prayer officiated the service and interment followed. Visitation was held on Wed., February 14, 2007 from 2-8 PM.
