Obituary

Jack was born in Pinconning, Michigan on November 7, 1939, to Gerry and Mary Walworth. He went to be with the Lord on August 16, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He served four years in the United States Navy. Upon honorable discharge he moved to Bakersfield, CA where he met his wife and mother of his children Ann. They married on July 11, 1964. He was later blessed with 5 children. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, driving his beloved truck, playing the role of Grumpy Grandpa for his numerous grandchildren, playing pool and teaching the young ones how to play as well. Watching NASCAR or any race was a favorite. When he wasn't spending time with his family and participating in his favorite hobbies, he was working. The majority of his career was spent as a farm equipment mechanic. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife of 41 years, Ann. He is survived by his three sisters, Marjorie, Judith and Susan, his sister-in-law Helen, his wife Pam and his five children, Chantel (Robert), Beth (Randy), Kristie (Ray), Jeffrey (Vicky) and Martin (Marcy). Also left to cherish his memory are 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and his very close friend and nephew Jim Stewart. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. We want to thank Dr. Baer and Dr. Cartmell for the excellent care they provided our dad during these last 3 years and Darlene, Carrie and staff from Alternative Care for their assistance and compassion. Please make any donations to CBCC or The American Cancer Society. A viewing will be held at Peters Funeral Home on Monday, August 20, 2012 from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be held at Peters Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 beginning at 10am; Msg. Michael Braun will officiate the services and interment will follow at Shafter Memorial Park.
