John Robert Turner, a 25 year resident of Yucca Valley, passed away March 29, 2017 in Palm Springs. He was 64 years old. The son of Robert and Georgia Turner, he was born April 2, 1952 in Stella, MO. John retired as Lt. Colonel with the United States Marine Corps. He also served as Church of Christ Minister for 22 years. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Patricia Turner of Yucca Valley, CA, his daughter Jennifer Rollins and son-in-law Jason of Guelph, ON, daughter Heather Sigafose and son-in-law Steve of Hubert, NC, step-daughter Shannon France and her husband Randal of Yucca Valley, CA, brother Richard Turner and sister-in-law Dee of Ponca City, OK, eight grandchildren, Jaymee, Caitlyn & Meghan Sigafose, Emelia Rollins, Brianna Ziesing, Amanda France, Kylee Guthrie & Jacob Sterling, and five great-grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Yucca Valley Church of Christ, 7021 Airway Ave., Yucca Valley. Interment will take place at Riverside National Cemetery at a later date.
