John Mulligan, 88 years old, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, December 26th, surrounded by his family and dreaming of the life he had loved, especially his days raising honeybees. John was born in Selma, California, later moving to Delano where he raised his family and was co-owner of Mulligan Furniture Company with his brother George. Eight years ago, he and Velma moved to Shafter to be closer to family. His life was centered around his love of family and his love for the Lord. In his last days he charged all of his children and grandchildren to take good care of his treasured wife, Velma. John is also survived by his four children, Tim Mulligan, Kathy Lindberg, Pat Mulligan, and Michael Mulligan; as well as 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Graveside service 9:30 a.m at Shafter Memorial Park 18662 Santa Fe Way in Shafter, Ca 93263. A Memorial and luncheon will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, December 31, at the home of Michael and Susan Mulligan, 17647 Wasco Avenue, Shafter.
