John Arismendez was born in Salinas, California on October 19, 1947 to Juan and Estella (Delgado) Arismendez. Johnny attended local schools and was an alumni of Shafter High where he was very social and enjoyed participating in many sports especially baseball. He attended college and was then called to serve our county during the Vietnam Conflict stationed at Fort Bragg in North Carolina as a paratrooper until 1970. Johnny was a very loyal friend and loved by all his family. He passed away on July 12, 2016 in Bakersfield, California. Johnny is survived by his daughter Cynthia Arismendez; granddaughter Katheryn Virrey; 4 great grandchildren; brothers Joe Arismendez, Emilio Arismendez and Eloy Arismendez; sisters Melba Ybarra and Yolanda Nunez. He is preceded in death by his parents Juan and Estella; granddaughter Sara Muñoz. A Memorial Service will be held at Peters Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday July 27, 2016 at 6pm.
