Joaquin Tapia Morales was born in Santiago Maravatio, Guanajuato, Mexico on December 9, 1941 to Maria Morales and Eutiquio Tapia. Joaquin was married to Maria Sirenia Hurtado and together they raised five beautiful children in California. He was a very hard working man who found work as a farm laborer harvesting grapes, peaches and any other crops in the Kern County area. Joaquin enjoyed going to the Casino and playing his odds on his favorite lottery scratchers. He was a fixture on the couch watching the Dodgers Baseball game with his grandchildren and sons. Joaquin would especially enjoy the days when he would go to the local flea market and interact with everyone else selling their goods. He was a loving husband, wonderful father and adoring grandfather whose eternal love will not be lost. Joaquin passed away peacefully with is family by his side on April 7, 2019 in Bakersfield, California. He is survived by his wife of 55 years M Sirenia H Tapia; children Jorge Tapia, Leticia Pantoja (her husband Miguel), Alejandro Tapia (his wife Marta Laura), Gabriela Garcia (her husband Jorge) and Henio Tapia (his wife Esmeralda); grandchildren Beverly Tapia Elizabeth Tapia, Daniela Tapia, Katia Tapia, Sofia Tapia, Sirenia Pantoja, Cynthia Pantoja, Leticia Pantoja, Alex Tapia, Sylvia Tapia, Juan Tapia, Gamaliel Tapia, Ivan Tapia, Alexis Tapia, Adam Garcia, Gabby Garcia, Galilea Garcia, Reymundo Tapia, Henio Tapia, Joaquin Tapia, Esmeralda Tapia, Kaytlyn Tapia and Diego Tapia ; 21 great grandchildren; 19 brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 11, 2019 from 4-8pm at Peters Funeral Home, Arvin Chapel. Holy Rosary will be recited Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 6pm at Peters Funeral Home, Arvin. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 12 at 12pm at St. Thomas Catholic Church officiated by Padre Juan Maldonado followed by a Graveside at Arvin Cemetery.
