JoAnne Britt December 20, 1944 – October 23, 2016 JoAnne Britt was born in Bakersfield, California on December 20, 1944 to Harold Oliver Rayburn and Virginia Lee Hicks. She grew up in a big family with three brothers; Billy, Freddy, and Gene and three sisters; Rhonda, Timmi, and Glenda. She was raised in Arvin were she attended the local schools and was Arvin High alum. JoAnne was a master of traits and was good at everything she attempted. She picked cotton, worked at our local packing sheds, and was even a licensed cosmetologist. JoAnne was a beautiful woman and the best mother to her four children Kim, Laurie, Jeff, and Missy (Billie). She loved all her children and was especially close to her youngest daughter Billie who had been her rock throughout many years. JoAnne enjoyed many things from her grandson's Jay's football games to making jewelry and clothing. She also loved her Pepsi, that was always seen being carried in her hands. JoAnne was also a big part of the Arvin community. She was name Citizen of the Year in 2012, was a member of Arvin Chamber of Commerce and Arvin Senior Center. JoAnne was a generous woman who loved to help others. Everyone that ever knew JoAnne knew how kind and sweet she was. She was always seen smiling and laughing. On October 23, 2016, JoAnne passed away. JoAnne is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Virginia Rayburn, brothers, Billy and Gene. She leaves behind her family and many friends. "Your remarkable spirit that held the family up you will be greatly missed by all the lives you touched, you will never be forgotten because you meant so much to us." A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2016 at 2PM at Arvin Funeral Home. There will be 11AM service at First Southern Baptist Church on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 located at 763 Laurel Avenue, Arvin, CA 93203.
