Joan Georgia Rickman was born November 30, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois to Bill and Mildred (Arnesen) Rickman. The family moved to Fellows in 1940 and Joan attended Taft elementary schools and graduated from Taft High School with the Class of 1951. She married Richard Kabrich and they had three children; son, Wayne Kabrich and daughters Lorri and Carol. In 1964 she divorced and went to work for the Taft Police Department as a dispatcher. In 1968 she married Robert Osborn and the family moved to Shafter. Joan went to work for Richland School District in the cafeteria. She loved her family, traveling with her husband, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill Rickman and Mildred LaBarthe and her son, Wayne Kabrich. Joan is survived by her husband of 40 years, Robert Osborn; daughters, Lorri Mead and husband Don and Carol Lousche and husband Jim; step-children, Judy Dudley and husband Paul, Debbie Hart and husband Mike and Robby Osborn; and many grandchildren whom she cared deeply for. She will be missed and never forgotten by her grandchildren, Amy Rascoe, Joe Lousche, Jacob Lousche, Richard Kabrich, Lee Kabrich, Kari Bass, Sherrie Chambliss, Jennifer Marden, Jon Hoseapple and 6 great grandchildren. A graveside service under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Shafter will be conducted Thursday, February 14 at 10am at Shafter Memorial Park. Pastor Mike Nichols of the New Life Fellowship of Buttonwillow will officiate the service and interment will follow.
