Jimmy Dale Ramay was born in Bakersfield, California on June 6, 1965 to Juanita May (Messer) and Hardy Ramay Jr. He was raised in Shafter and attended the local schools. After his school years he left briefly and lived in Clear Lake, California then returned to Shafter to care for his mother, Juanita Ramay. Jim worked part of his career as a heavy equipment operator in the agriculture industry. Jim enjoyed the great outdoors, and his pastimes included fresh water fishing, pheasant and wildlife hunting. He had a green thumb that was obvious to anyone who had the opportunity to see the care that he put into his vegetable garden. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Hardy Jr. and Juanita Ramay; grandparents, Hardy and Sylvia Ramay. He is survived by his brothers, Jack and wife BarbAnn Ramay, and Michael and wife Carol Ramay. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 6, 2011 beginning at 2pm at the Church of God at Smith Corner; pastor Boyd Shepard will officiate.
